If you want them to work on a DS or DS Lite, you need a special Flash Cart such as an R4 or Acekard 2.

They also work with the DS emulators out there.

It doesn't work for my DS emulators (iDeaS & DESMUME). Can you name once that works?

I've tested them myself on my laptop with all emulators up-to-date.
I'm even running them on Vista ( 32 bit ) and Win 7 ( 32 & 64 bit ) .
Either your settings are wrong or your program isn't up-to-date.
Make sure your plug-ins are set correctly and your PC can handle it.

thanks b4 I go and buy the Acekard 2 for my dslite do I just copy the downloaded files to the Acekard 2 and just insert the kard in the ds game slot and it will let me play games that are dl on the card thanks is it that easy peace

So to say: Yes, it is very easy on the DS Lite, but not so much with the DSi.
With the Acekard, just make sure you update the firmware and you make a folder { NDS or ROMs : Both work } and make sure your SD card is inserted properly.
Once you have both firmware and SD card set, it's just all about how many games you want and how much money you're gonna save.
I would say get the new Acekard 2i, just incase you want to upgrade to the DSi, but some other flashkarts soon are gonna be able to run GBA games on the DSi.

So, in short:
Get your flashcart of choice.
Place the proper firmware into your SD Card.
Make a "Games" folder in the SD Card.
Jump around for joy with your saved money while you play your ROMs.
